My journey is defined as a life of compassion, healing, and community.I have had the privilege of practicing medicine in Edmond for nearly 30 years, a community I hold close to my heart. Over the decades, I’ve dedicated myself to hospital medicine, pain management, and behavioral health, including addiction treatment. Growing up in Edmond since 1970, I’ve watched this city grow and thrive, and I’m proud to have played a part in its healthcare landscape.

My personal journey has profoundly shaped my approach to medicine. Having multiple family members struggle with addiction, and facing my own past battles, I understand firsthand the challenges of overcoming dependency. I’ve been in recovery since 2012, a milestone that has deepened my compassion for patients battling addiction, especially opioids. One of the greatest rewards of my work is witnessing patients find forgiveness with themselves, freeing themselves from the need to fill emotional voids with chemicals, compulsive behaviors, or harmful habits like overeating, over-exercising, body dysmorphia, or gambling.

Throughout my career, I’ve helped other clinics develop algorithms for safely weaning patients off opioids and managing chronic pain with Buprenorphine. I’ve learned that many individuals suffer silently with their chronic illnesses. My goal is to provide compassionate, understanding care in a busy world, especially for those striving simply to be healthy.

My professional journey has taken me through private practice, five years with theIndian Health Service, hospital-based medicine, and pain management. I believe that while the physiology of disease may be universal, every patient is unique—each reacts differently to their conditions and responds to treatment in their own way. I approach patient care with trust, availability, and a genuine desire to understand their fears. I find that many patients feel at ease when they realize their doctor truly cares about them.

I am passionate about the city of Edmond, where I grew up and have remained actively involved in the community. I’ve been a member of Life.Church since the mid-1990s and even helped open the student clinic at UCO, my alma mater. My hope is to continue contributing to the health and well-being of Edmond’s residents, helping them thrive

Currently, I am excited to be part of Remedy Health in Edmond, where the philosophy of primary care aligns perfectly with my vision of comprehensive, personalized healthcare. I am particularly thrilled to incorporate addiction recovery medicine and direct primary care—an innovative approach I believe will be one of the first of its kind in the state. This care delivery model is in part defined extended office visits, which allows me to truly listen and understand the needs of every patient.

Ona personal note, I love playing golf and basketball, and spending quality time with my kids. My favorite Scripture is Romans 12:2, which encourages transformation and renewal of the mind. I believe in changing negative internal monologues into positive beliefs about ourselves. After busy days, I unwind through exercise and practicing gratitude.

My personal mission as a physician is to help patients understand they are not alone in their struggles. I enjoy building relationships with patients and playing a part in their transformation. Making patients feel like they are truly care for means the world to me.
